Ahkar after Salah
The Sunnah (Prophetic guidance) is for the Muslim to say after every obligatory prayer, whether he prayed as an imam (leader) or behind an imam or on his own:
الله Astaghfirullah (I ask Allah for forgiveness) three times, then:
Allāhumma antas-salām,wa minkas-salām, tabārakta yā
dhal-Jalāli wal-'Ikrām.
Translation: O Allah, You are Peace and from You comes peace. Blessed are You, O Owner of majesty and honor. (Sunan Abi Dawud 1512)
It was narrated
that Mu'adhbin Jabal said: "The
Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) took my hand and said: 'I love you, O Mu'adh!' I said: 'And I
love you, O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ).' Then the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Never forget to say in every
prayer:
Rabbi a'inni 'ala dhikrika wa shukrika wa husni
'ibadatik
Translation: My Lord, help me to remember You, give thanks to
You and worship You well. (Sunan an-Nasa'i 1303)
Narrated Warrad: (the freed slave of Al-Mughira bin Shu`ba)
Al-Mughira wrote to Muawiya bin Abu Sufyan that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) used to
say at the end of every prayer after the Salam:
La ilaha illa-l-lahu wahdahu la sharika lahu;
lahu-l-mulk wa lahu-l-hamd, wahuwa 'ala kulli shai'n qadir. Allahumma la mani'a
Lima a taita, wa la mu'ta Lima mana'ta, wa la yanfa'u dhal-jaddu minkal-jadd.
Translation: There is nothing worthy of worship except Allah
Alone, Who has no partner. To Him belongs the kingdom, to Him praise is due,
and He has power over every thing. O Allah no one can withhold what You have
given, or give what You have withheld and riches cannot avail a wealthy person
against You. (Sahih
al-Bukhari 6330)
Abu Zubair reported:
Ibn Zubair uttered at the end of every prayer after pronouncing salutation
(these words):
La

Translation: There is no god but Allah. He is
alone. There is no partner with Him. Sovereignty belongs to Him and He is
Potent over everything. There is no might or power except with Allah. There is
no God but Allah and we do not worship but Him alone. To Him belong all
bounties, to Him belongs all Grace, and to Him is worthy praise accorded. There
is no god but Allah, to Whom we are sincere in devotion, even though the
unbelievers should disapprove it.
(The narrator said):
He (the Holy Prophet) uttered it at the end of every (obligatory) prayer. (Sahih
Muslim 594)
Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: Whoever says سُبْحَانَ الله (Subhana'llah) 'Glory be to Allah' thirty-
three times and اَللهُ اَكْبَر (Allahu akbar) 'Allah is Greater' thirty-three times
and اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰه
(al-hamdu lillah) 'Praise
be to Allah' thirty-three times, and seals the hundred with
ala kulli shay'in qadir)

after every prayer will have his wrong actions
forgiven him even if they are abundant as the foam on the sea. (Sahih

Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) commanded me to recite Mu'awwidhatan (the
last two surahs of the Qur'an) after every prayer.
(Sunan Abi Dawud 1523)
It was narrated
from Umm Salamah that when the Prophet (ﷺ)
performed the Subh (morning prayer), while he said the Salam, he would say:
‘Allahumma
inni as’aluka ‘ilman nafi’an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa ‘amalan mutaqabbalan

knowledge, goodly provision, and acceptable deeds).
